Introduction Principles of wound management Use of instruments Instrument knot tying Basic wound management (using pig trotters) Exploring wounds (extending/undermining) Wound visualisation (haemostasis) |
Corner, mattress and simple suturing Advanced suturing (lips, gums, ears & //-wounds) Tendon repair (ED level) No Touch technique OSCE style practice/summary Q & A / audit / finish |
Tuition by a consultant with surgical and EM experience of over 40 years, also an instructor on the RCS Basic Surgical Skills course. The course covers basic to advanced techniques, using animal specimens (no foam). The course will suit those preparing for the FRCEM examination.
Only 8 places at each course. Price includes all equipment, refreshments, lunch, attendance certificates and parking (collect ticket at barrier and swap for a pre-paid one).
